Research Data and Software

Researchers at the Duke ISP Lab have developed several high-quality datasets and computational tools that improve how we measure public and private investments in innovation. Our work includes creating more accurate methods for linking patents to firms through dynamic name and ownership matching and building new infrastructures to track government-funded patenting. By producing reproducible software and standardized workflows, this research expands the empirical toolkit available to scholars and policymakers and strengthens the data foundations of innovation studies.
